Marsh marigold (Caltha palustris)
Early spring plant common to marshes, pond and stream edges, and frequently inundated flood plains. One of the first species to flower in the spring, the yellow flowers offer important nectar for bees and butterflies. Plant parts are reputed to have medicinal value. Spreads via bulb division and seed dispersal. Best suited for soils saturated in the spring and moist or shaded the remainder of the year.
