Broadleaf arrowhead (Sagittaria latifolia)
A non-persistant perennial emergent aquatic species common to the margins of ponds, lakes, and slow-moving streams. Provides habitat to birds, cover to fish, and food for waterfowl, muskrats, and beaver. Excellent at removing excess nutrients from water.? Tubers form underground and are the only plant parts to survive during the winter. New plants emerge from the tubers each spring.
