Bluejoint (Calamagrostis canadensis)
A grass common to marshes, swamps, and the margins of streams and ponds. May form dense stands 2-5 feet in height. Leafblades are generally blue-green in color. Leaves are used for nesting habitat by waterfowl and songbirds, as well as cover by small mammals and water snakes. Seeds, with a tufted lemma, are readily dispersed by wind.
