Little Blue Stem (Schizachyrium scoparium)
A deep rooted grass with beautiful multi-hued stems (steel blue, light purple, light green, and silvery gray) leaves. Common to meadows and grasslands, and the upper shorelines of lakes. Grows to a height of 3-5 feet. Wispy seed heads wave above the leaves and stems. In dry soils, may form bunching cluster, while in moist soils may spread to form a sod. Deer resistant.
