Indiangrass (Sorghastrum nutans)
A warm-season perennial bunchgrass with yellow florets on branched clusters of spikelets. Common to grasslands, meadows, shorelines of lakes, and the edges of woodlands. Provides nesting habitat and seed forage for grassland and songbirds, as well as small mammals. An attractive ornamental grass with gold and purple coloring late summer into early fall.
