Sago pondweed (Stuckenia pectinata)
Submerged perennial plant with narrow thread-like leaves. Common in shallow ponds, backwaters, and the margins of lakes. Useful in controlling phytoplankton blooms by intaking phosphorus from the water. The entire plant is a valuable food source for waterfowl, in particular dabbling ducks such as mallards.
