Sweetflag (Acorus americanus)

Perennial plant common to marshes, edges of ponds, and frequently inundated floodplains. Long, blade like leafs possess a pleasant citrus-like aroma. Flowers are inconspicuous on a spadex that erupts at half-height of the leaf blade.  Seeds are eaten by waterfowl and small mammals.
