Perennial wildflower with purple flowers and short, fuzzy green leaves that partially wrap around the stem. Flowers bloom in late summer through early fall at a time when other wildflowers blooms have gone by, and provide a valuable food source for late-season butterflies and moths. Common to wet meadows, moist soils, and ditches. Excellent addition to the pollinator garden.
